What kind of compression numbers should I expcet to see on an engine of this type?

Usually, on the starboard bank, approximately 95 psi. On the port bank, 90 psi. What are you getting?

I was told 100 port 95 starboard

Perhaps whoever told you that has starboard and port confused.
Are you going to tell us what readings you're getting?

I didn't test it the mechanic told me those numbers I'm considering buying the motor

It's a ballpark figure, depends on the quality of the gauge.
