"I posted last evening on this problem, thanks for the response. Checked today and it had spark and started up and ran fine for about 20 min. then quit @ would crank but wouldn't fire. Checked again and neither bank has spark. Any suggestions on what I could check?"

"Could be a bad stator. The windings can break but will continue to have continuity when cold. When it heats up and the copper expands you lose the (connection) and no spark.

You can test the leads from the stator with the engine cold - should have minimal resistance on an ohm meter.

Then take a blow dryer to the flywheel and heat her right up, if you start to lose continuity on the ohm meter you know a winding is shot.

You can use a heat gun too if the wife won't give up her blow dryer in the name of science
