200 johnson no spark

"went to look at a 20 ft 1997 hydro sport with a 1997 200 johnson, boat been sitting for 3 yrs, went to fire it up,no spark,all plugs,due power packs go bad from sitting?what else could it be?,moter looks brand new, boat has always been trailered, 300 hours on hr meter THANKS"

"Was the kill switch lanyard &

"Was the kill switch lanyard & cap installed on the kill switch? If not, that'll do it.

Remove spark plugs, then remove the black/yellow wire from the ignition switch. Now check spark. If you now have spark with that wire disconnected but not when it's connected, the ignition switch is shorted."

"thanks for the info..I dicsconnected all wired going up to the remont conntroll at the motor,jumped the starter selinoid,no spark,trouble is on motor,how can I test swith pack? stater? im not to best speller but im good with a meter....THANKS"
