Hello All.......I have a 1997 200hp Evinrude "Vindicator" (E200STLEUB) on my Javelin Fish n Ski (had it new).....I have no spark, whatsoever, on any cylinder. Here's what I've done so far:

  1. Replaced Power Pack (went w/CDI)
  2. Replaced all spark plugs (went w/factory-recommended Champions QL78YC)
  3. Replaced Timer Base (went w/CDI) - Original base tested bad

The stator ohm measurements are not in spec, but are very close....I read around 825 ohms on each side. Spec. is 900 ohms or greater. I hate to spend the $500 if this really isn't the problem.

I thought of the stop circuit.....there is mention in the manual of yellow/black and orange/black wiring with a disconnector for testing this circuit.....exactly where is this disconnector (rear of motor, starboard side of motor, port side of motor, under power pack, somewhere else?).

Please advise........help is appreciated, and thanks in advance!

How did you test the timer base?
