How do I remove the vertical drive shaft from the lower unit? Lower unit is off but I am unable to remove drive shaft.

The lower driveshaft has a nut holding the pinion gear in place.--------------Propshaft carrier and reverse gear must be out to get at the nut.----------------Top of the page under outboard parts gets you the pictures.

Thank you, the gear is out and I'll see about getting to the nut. Any hints on ease of removing?
