Is there a way for me to convert from a pull start to electric on my Sea King. I have arthritis in my elbow which keeps me from pull starting it.

"Jeff, do you have a model number. Sea King, which was Montgomery Wards "store brand" was built by a number of companies over the years. And while I suspect your motor is actually a Chrysler, the model number will confirm that.

In most cases any motor can be converted to electric start, but often the cost can be quite high (sometimes upwards of 1000 bucks). But with a bit of looking and scrounging around sometimes considerably cheaper. At the bottom end you could count on (realistically) at least 300 bucks plus the cost of the battery."

"Hi Graham, the model # is VWB27920A and the serial # is 76X 10305, is there any way to make it easier to pull. I am also trying to find decals for the controls since it was all painted over when I bought it."

"Jeff, your motor is in fact a Chrysler. A 1967 if my charts are correct.

There is really no way to make it easier to pull. It's the engines compression that makes it difficult (multiplied by the number of cylinders and total displacement). That's why a single cylinder 4 horse is easy to pull and a 3 cylinder 90 horse is near impossible."
