"anyone know where I can find out the weight of my 20R71S. I'm going to pull it so I can do hull main. and repaint an old hull, just wandering if I can handle it by myself or get help to lift I've been looking but have not found a link for that info yet"
 
I've got figures of around

I've got figures of around 46kg give or take a little depending on shaft length for 1984 models. Its unlikely to be vastly different.

"You can not compare the wheigh of 89 25/30 to the 71 20. The through prop exhaust models are around 84-89 Kg!! The 'old' 20 should be max 40Kg. if short shaft.
I used to carry the 'old' ones, use a trolley on the newer ones. I only weigh 65 Kg myself."

"not sure if its a short or long shaft but it looks like a long shaft it measures approx. 32 inches from the center of prop shaft to the base of the motor, i'm not sure about metric conversion but with you guys info it looks like its going to weight in about 175 pounds if a kg is 2.2 pounds, which means i'll be getting help to lift this motor and move it, its got it has a put start, but has been converted to remote electric. no way my old back can do it alone.
Thanks guys, I love this discussion forum, you can always get with someone somewhere to get the answers you need. I'm not sure yet if the hull is a fixer or junk, a guy gave me the boat,motor, and trailer last monday to get it out of his yard. the trailer just needs to be rewired (seems his dogs do not like wires, no problem there) and I can use it to haul my jon boat around. the motor looks as if it were just rebuilt by pro's not at home. so worst case I have a 20 hp motor a trolling motor and a trailer for free even if the hulls a wash, and i found a place near dallas/ft.worth that sells used hulls for anywhere from $150 to $400 depending on what kind your looking for and sometimes on craigslist you can find one someone wants to get rid of just come and get it.

I have a weight listed for the manual start 20/25 horse models (1970-75) of 86 pounds (dry - so no prop) and 97 pounds for the electric start models."

Face it, we are all getting "old" and we are breakin' down.

We can call it "wisdom" or whatever, but the bottom line is it just plain "hurts" now to show how "tough" we are
