2 stud starter

"1981,50hp. mariner,starter has large black wire on top stud ,does it loop down 2 bottom stud with silonoid cable. does any one have digram? hate 2 pop a new power pack,any help app.

"thanks JB,but i'm stil confused,i know the starter is goood but when i go from stud 2 stud with vote meter they have cont. as if they were conected inside.?? starter is sitting in rubber top & bottom,no contact with block at all,if top stud with black wire is ground why the contaic between lugs? please help me understand.thanks.

yellow wire from solinoid goes to lug on back bottom of starter.

the brushes inside will show some resistance not an open on the meter"
