Engine running but speradic firing. Marked flywheel TDC for all cyl...#1 showing advance but will not adjust when turning in or out on the screw for the timing control. Will rev up well but goes back to sputtering at lower RPM..any ideas where to go from here?

Sorry Lester...no idea. Since this is more like an outboard than an I/O I would suggest also posting this in the Johnson/Evinrude section and see if you get any help there.
