So, on my Yamaha outboard, my large remote tank doesn't seem to be filling the small motor-mounted tank. Manual switch doesn't work either. All day out on the water, I thought my motor was running hot when the alarm came on. I've owned several Yamaha outboards and have never had this problem with any of them. Any suggestions guys? I have no ideas. I guess I'll look up a wiring diagram and start searching.

Apply power and ground directly to the pump leads. If no workee replace the pump.

If it works fix the wiring to the pump. Connectors at both ends of the harness are known to be problematic.

Thanks man!! I thought it was just the float in the main tank on the motor, but if it makes the alarm sound, that indicates that it's doing it's job, right? Is using the emergency toggle switch basically the same thing as sending voltage directly to the pump, because that isn't working either.

When pressed the toggle switch is doing what the CDI unit is supposed to be doing. It applies the ground to the pump.

The pump has battery + power when the key is on.
