1999 Johnson 4 HP 2 stroke

Hello everyone, first time poster here.

last week I purchased a 4 hp 1999 Johnson motor for my boat. It ran good on the trailer and everything, and still runs good. I’ve noticed it doesn’t have a stream of water coming from the “pee hole”, and after roughly 15 minutes until it stops running. This is my first motor, and I don’t know much about them, but I don’t want to pay someone to fix it if it is something simple I’m missing.

When you ran it on the trailer did you supply cooling water to the impeller ?
