1999 Johnson 250 block

I would like to find a good uesd block for my 1999 Johnson 250 carburated motor. What years and HP blocks are the same as mine? I was trying to find out from the evinrude website but it dosent show the block part number just the powerhead assy part number. Are any year blocks better than another? I read that the closed deck blocks had a cooling problem and that there was a modification that fixed it. How important is that mod?

Sorry, but I think you are mis-reading the information------------It lists a " cylinder and crankcase assembly "---not a " powerhead assembly "------------And yes they appear to be expensive.
