My 1999 Honda BF90A has a constant red light indicator. The impeller assembly, and thermostat were changed 2 months ago (less than 15 hours ago). I ran the engine for 8 hours straight fishing with my son and had no problems whatsoever (only green light illuminated). Left boat tied up to dock for 3 days while doing trailer maintenance (new hubs, took off old brakes, rust work etc.) While pulling boat up on ramp there was lots of mud, sand etc. and when flushing the engine with fresh water the red light indicator illuminated when the key was turned on. I know that the red light should indicate an overheat condition, but the engine can't be overheated with just turning the key on. The engine will run and water is flowing through the water port (peeing) while using the mouse ears. Took cowling off and looked at water tubes where water was peeing and did not see any obstructions. Any thoughts on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
