I have a 130 and it lost the balancer belt .the balancer gear came loose and it spun on the shaft . I bought a new shaft w/ gear assembled. Now I just need help timing it and tensioner set.
Any help would be appreciated .

Funny you should mention this, I just went thru this twice. The second time it took out the timing belt and trashed the valves in the head. $1000 for parts and several hours of free labor all is well now. I was po'd!!!!

Timing the balancer isn't hard. Getting to the hole to lock the intake balancer in place is finicky. I moved the pvc hoses and wiring harness out of the way to get to the 12mm bolt behind the top of the intake, then used a flex head gearwrench to get clearance to the bolt. Loosen the bolt slightly, then use your fingers to take it the rest of the way out. Set the timing belt to TDC and align the cam timing marks and the exhaust balancer shaft. Now comes your secret weapon, you need to get a 7/32" welding rod and strip it completely of all flux. You'll need to bend the rod slightly but still keep it straight enough to fish it into the hole. Once you have it in place rotate the balancer shaft until the rod goes into the hole and bottoms out locking the shaft in place. If inserted correctly, the rod will go into the aprox. 3"+ and then you'll need to mark a tooth and a mark on the balancer case and rotate the shaft back and forth, there will be slight play in the shaft to move(about 1-2 teeth worth of movement). I split the difference and then aligned the marks on the pulley and case and carefully install in pulley and gear. Then install the belt making sure all the marks are lined up and tighten the tensioners, remove the rod and install the bolt. Say all those curse words you have been holding in for the last hour or so and have a cold beer.

Thank you ! I was a little intimidated by the balancer belt not being timed right and the tensioner not set correctly as the manual said something about turn the engine over by hand twice to set the tensioner. I will do it like ya said because the wait time is 2 weeks here for a shop to do it . Thanks for all the tips .

After the belts are on and aligned properly(with the tensioner bolt loose one full turn) rotate the crank 2 full rotations clockwise watching the timing marks on the cam shaft, when the T1 lines up perfectly stop. Then advance the cam gear 3 three teeth clockwise and back it up one tooth counterclockwise and stop. This loads the tension on the belts on the non tensioner side and takes up the slack on the tensioner side. Me personally, I push in on both tensioners lightly after the procedure to make sure all the slack is taken up and release the tensioners then let them settle and tighten the adjusting lock nut. This way I know the slack is gone, but the belts aren't over tightened. Hope all this makes sense.

Yes , it does . Seems like a lot of extra crap tho instead of just aligning the timing marks on crank, cam and balancers and tighten then put the auto tensioner on like a car .
Thanks for your help
