Just stripped the carb for the first time since I got the engine, the pin in what I think they call the emulsion tube has a fraction missing off the end.
The previous owner has had a screwdriver in the slot on the tube and twisted the very end off the point off the pin.
The pin is hollow, and goes from the bottom of the bowl into the carb body. The pin has no obstructions in it.Probably only 1/16" missing of one side of the point on the needle/pin.
I have managed to get the emulsion tube out,but the needle/pin won't budge.
If I trim the pin/needle up,will it make much difference to the tuning of the carb?
The pin/needle will be well submerged in fuel when the bowl is full of fuel.
I'm hoping I won't have to replace the carb.
Any help will be gratefully received.
