"Just had ECM rebuilt due to engine turning over but not cranking. Afterwards, it ran strong for about 3 days, then fishing today, went to recrank it, and nothing. No beep, no gauges, no motor trim, no turning over, nothing. After tow to dock, found that the 10 amp fuse (the one by itself, below the two groups of 3 10 amp fuses) was blown. Replaced the fuse, everything worked but when I turn the switch to the start position, nothing. It immediately blows the same 10 amp fuse. Engine never tries to crank.

What should I look at first? Could this be related to the switch? The engine does turn over when jumping the starter solenoid.

Thanks in advance. Hope to get it running since in Boca Grande on vacation with the wife and kids and need to do more fishing....."

"Well if the fuse blew right away after you replaced it and then went to start it something is shorting out in the wiring to blow a 10 amp fuse. You need to look at the wiring diagram for your motor in a manual and find out what that 10 amp fuse is connected to and start tracing wires to find the short. Only possible reason for a fuse to blow like that is a short somewhere in the wiring or a wire connected to the wrong thing, ie. a wire that is supposed to be connected to a positive feed from the battery connected to ground on accident to draw that much current to blow a fuse."
