"I am helping a friend fix up
"I am helping a friend fix up a 1999 Hurricane 237 FS that he recently purchased. The trim gauge didn't work, so I found the lever and spring sender all salt corroded and got it cleaned up and lubed and it's moving freely. Gauge still didn't work so I checked the ohms from the sender at the gauge (black, pink wires) while he slowly moved the lever up and down. It seemed to check out with a consistent range of 1012(down)~1118(up) ohms. I then checked to make sure he was getting 12 volts at the gauge...and that checked out fine. We then found a new matching Teleflex gauge and installed it yesterday only to have the needle pin its self to the UP position and stay there as the original was. The wires are all in the same spot as they were, so I don't have a clue what to check next?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Greg"
