With the rabbit ears on the motor in my driveway I'm curious if the water should be coming out of the lower half at the seam and above, is this normal? I get a stream coming out of the piss hole, so the water is making its way through the engine.

Yes, typical..

On many motors a strong stream from the telltale does not mean motor is cooling properly.

Thanks fellas, the engine is cooling properly, I just wanted to confirm that where the water is coming out of the lower end is typical.
