1998 force 120 TiltTrim indicator shows fully raisedalways

"I have a tilt/trim indicator on my Procraft 180 Combo. The indicator shows fully raised no matter what the position. I have read on here that there are 2 solenoids, one for up and one for down. If it shows up always, which should I replace? Is that actually the problem? Thanks for any help."

the solenoids turn motor on.

the solenoids turn motor on. Depending upon which direction one or the other solenoid sends 12v to trim motor. If you trim goes up and down then your solenoids are fine.

my guess is that the position sensor on your transom bracket is stuck. Its usually a button shaped thing that gets pushed in and out as the motor raises and lowers. You can tell that it is an electric sensor because it will have wires coming out of it.
