Need help finding a fuel syste

Need help finding a fuel system problem.
The engine will run fine at any speed but idle.
Fuel bulb will go soft but not because it is leaking
air into the system. Previously I had found a leak in the system due to a broken plastic nipple near the the fuel pump. Replaced that and it has difficulty idling in gear or out. Fuel Filters clean in tank and at the engine. No fuel leakage anywhere else. Bulb will stay hard for weeks in the driveway til it is started and ran at idle.

Any ideas?
Any help truly appreciated while I track this one down.

I spent some time today tracki

I spent some time today tracking things down on the fuel system. Opened the fuel pump to see if the diaphragms were pierced or cracked. And noticed it did not seat between the screws very well and it had a stripped screw. But didn't really put it together til I saw your post. So I think you are on the right track. Went back out the to outboard tonight and "doctored" it til I can get a new one in. I will test it tomorrow. If it runs better I will order one very quickly.
