1998 40 hp forse

I have a 1998 40 hp force motor has a popping out the exhaust at idle to half speed high speed runs great

when I run it at home and turn off pull plugs there wet

Sounds like the air screw needs adjusted??
For initial setting it should be about 1 1/4 turn out.
Adjust warm and in the water.

thanks jerry did that there is a hard tan buildup on back of motor on the exhaust port is that normal did a compression check 125 on 1 and 2 new plugs
