1997 Mercury 150hp EFI

My starting is working and the flywheel is spining but she won't fire, also the normal "chirping" sound when you turn the key is not working, i dont know if that is some type of electrical signal or what but the motor is not firing. does anyone know about the detonator sensor and its location and has any idea why she would'nt be firing...

Have you checked for fuel and spark?

I would back up even further - swap the battery with one you know is good.

With insuffient power you will not have enough juice to power up the engine computer and then not enough to get the flywheel turning fast enough to generate the power required for the ignition.

So I would start there, plus check out the fuses in the little fuse block.
