1997 mariner leaking gas

have a 1997 115 HP Mariner.. not sure how many versions there are but this is the version where 2 cylinders kick in and drop off at 2000 RPM..

last couple of times out, when I tip the motor up after a run i get gas leaking into the transom well.. mixed gas because its green..

its not real easy to see in there but I don't see anything laying in there while its running with the cover off.. and it runs fine..

when I tip it up i see fuel start to collect down near the bottom front which runs into the well when the motor is tipped right up... not sure exactly how its coming out when the cover is locked on, but its down near the fuel inlet fitting I think..

it does not continue to pour out, just that initial blurp like its a little bowlful and then it stops..

any ideas?

Not unusual. If you drain the carbs before shutting down (by pulling the hose and running the motor 'til it stops) that eliminates that. Also a good idea with the crappy ethanol slop we're stuck with nowadays.
