My Mariner 60 hp tiller has oil alarm issue. Purchased last year, 3rd hand, boat and motor not used in 8-10 years. 1st time we used it the oil alarm went off after about 10 min of use. Motor was using oil so we disconnected alarm. Was told probably bad oil tank so it was replaced. Next time in use alarm went off even though oil was being used. What could be the problem?

Replaced the water pump impeller ?-----Is the motor overheating ?

Definitely sort it out before you continue to run the engine. It is easy to test the overheat alarm by unplugging the wire and grounding it. Similar tests can be done with the oil tank wires.

On my 2005, the injection pump failed (no warning). I had a local pro rebuild it. Luckily my crankshaft survived but had to be bored .020 over. $1900 later, I'm back on the water and with the oil injection removed and running premix from now on.
