1997 Johnson J150exeuc ocean runner dies after few min

Be having issues with my 97 Johnson 150 since I changed the VRO pump due to leaking oil. Started out with an oil leak changed the VRO pump and then at high rpm start cutting out line I was sucking air. Found carb float bowls were leaking fuel so I changed all 6. Now after that ran it again still same thing. Found air leak at inline fuel filter took out filter. I also changed out the fuel side of the VRO pump my old pump worked fine just leaked oil. Now I swapped out the intermediate housing IAW the factory service manual. Took it to lake primed right up no fuel leaks held prime very well started right up backed it off the trailer let it warm up till RPMS dropped to between 900-1000 advanced throttle boat came up on plane like a champ quickly hit 4000rpms advanced throttle toward 5000trimmed boat up and wham boat died. No warning horns nothing from then warning circuits. Engine wouldn't start reprimed nothing motored again nothing finally after repriming several times boat started so I limped back at idle. Loaded up on the trailer shut down motor and restarted fired right up I shut it down and restarted no issues with that advanced the throttle to load up the motor while on the trailer strong as hell advanced it to about 2500 rpms want to push trailer and truck up ramp. Shut it down and pulled it out. Any idea what could cause that.
