1997 Johnson 175HP Oceanrunner J175EXEUE Not Peeing

Ran the boat last weekend, all good. Pulled the boat out and hooked it up to flush it using the flush ear attachment on the lower unit. Water was on, but when I fired up the engine, there was no water coming out of the "pee" hole. Shut it down immediately and flushed it using the hose attachment on the top backside of the engine.

I am going to replace the impeller/kit as I do not know when it was last changed. I took off the lower unit today and the impeller looks almost new.

I hooked up the hose to the hose flush connection at the top of the motor and water flow was very good, running out of the water feed tube that runs up into the engine. Also fed water up the feed tube in the direction of normal water flow and water was flowing out of the "pee" hole as normal.

Just wondering what may have caused the engine to not "pee" after I had run it under normal use. I just replaced both thermostats. Checked those both again today and they look good. No junk clogging these areas.

Could it have been a vacuum lock or an air lock causing the engine to not "pee"?

Everything I did today after removing the lower unit leads me to believe everything is good.

All advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

Dave
