Start and idles normally for a couple of minutes. Then RPM drop and it stalls. It will fire right up and start the process, over again getting shorter and shorter each time.

It will idle, but no accelerate. It bogs and dies the instant you crack the throttle. Water pressure gauge abnormally high. @10 psi at idle. Pegged gauge about 3500 rpm

Diagnosed at the dock this morning. After cranking the motor a couple of times, a big burst of air come up from the foot after cranking. Checked plugs for water. Lower starboard size plug looked a little cleaner than the rest but no obvious signs of water. Would still start and idle for a couple of seconds before dripping in RPM and stalling. At that point, leaning towards a blown head gasket. Continued cranking to troubleshoot. Would still start and idle, but bursts of air coming from foot where getting bigger. After cranking 10 seconds or so, it started and water blew water out the exhaust ports. Shut it down and put it back on the trailer.

Brought it home, plugged plugs to check compression. Plugs didn't look "clean" per say. The compression was lower than I remember @ 90 PSi, but all cylinders where pretty even. Getting ready to pulls the heads to investigate. Just seems like a lot of water for no obvious signs racked block possible. on the plug. Is it possible the block is cracked letting the water in?

Pulled heads. Pistons and cylinders look like new. Some oil staining and discoloring but can still read the numbers on the head of the pistons.

The gasket was deformed between lower starboard cylinder and water passge with oil covering the backside of gasket. Port side gasket showed no signs of leakage but the heads where bright and shinny. Lacked deposits of any type.
I'm not totally convinced this was the problem. Guess new head gaskets will tell.
