1997 BRAVO 3 outdrive NOISE

I have a noise only in gear from outdrive gets a bit worse on turns. I have replaced u-joints and felt gimble bearing which felt ok. Any other things I could check?

"Do you have the noise in and out of the water ? I would think either u-joints or gimbal, especially with it worse when turning. If you replaced the u-joints and it still did it, then I'd say the gimbal bearing is bad, the only other could be the upper carrier/drive shaft bearings. ( yes / no ?? )"

in or out of water? not sure! never really ran it out of water to listen for the noise. Why would it matter? If gimble was bad wouldnt it make noise in nuetral also? maybe im wrong. thats why im asking for help. lol.

"there are many people that test run and tune their boat on the trailer and for some things, it's not enough.

Well, even though the drive shaft and gears are spinning there is a lot less strain and torque on the u-joints and gimbal in neutral so, it may not make as much noise or none at all depending on how bad it is."
