I just inherited a ProV 175 and it starts fine when the choke is mostway out. The problem happens if I put the choke in, even after the motor is running. The engine just sputters and dies with the butterflies open. Also, as a quirk, gas quirts out of the carb from above the butterflies too and cascades down into the cowling. I'm new to outboards so this is all weird stuff to me. Anyone seen this problem before? The gas is good, just filled 'er up with 89 Octane no-ethanol gas. Oil pumps well too from the little injector thingys.
