"Could be a couple of things
(1) the oil is syphoning into the fuel line at the vro I have seen this happen if the vro oil tank is mounted high

(2) Once you have turned the motor off there is unburnt fuel\oil mix laying in the crankcase and transfers when you lay up the motor the petrol evaperates and leaves the oil, next time you start the engine it gets a belly fuel of fresh fuel\oil and washes the left over oil into the combustion chambers making for a very smokey engine until it clears."

Adding to what Jamie says there is also the possibility of a sticking float needle. Once the engine is shut down the carb(s) will continue to drip fuel until the fuel pressure drops. Leaving you with excess unburnt fuel in the crankcase. See above.

"a slight pressurized oil tank, due to clogged vent can do this,..an easy solution,if the tank is in a protected location,or in a batt box,is to drill a 1/8 inch hole in cap...."
