1996 Johnson 115 Ocean Runner Tilt/Trim

First everything worked before I replace the Tilt/Trim motor. Now the motor only goes up. When pressing down the motor runs but nothing happens. Help.

probably just a bad switch or bad solenoid

Why was the trim motor replaced ?------------If the motor runs when down is selected then it must be a hydraulic / check valve problem.

The tilt motor case was really corroded and I didn't want to take a chance on the water. But everything worked fine before I changed it. The tilt motor runs in both directions but the engine only moves in the up direction.

Old unit had a corrosion hole in the case. Replaced unit and everthing is now ok.
