This motor has run outstanding

This motor has run outstanding since i bought it new. Now this year it will stall on me. at all different speeds? some days it runs fine. some times it just skips but never stalls. even stalled at idle speed once. some times i have to wait a few mins before turning the key or it wont restart. other times it fires right back up? anyone have an idea what it is? i have replaced the plugs and wires. and tried fuel additive to no avail. Please help me out. Thanks.

"first--i would ck spark and compression,to rule those out...then,i would absolutely,ck for wtr in fuel....when was the last time,it was professionally tuned,de-carbed?...filters changed, carbs cleaned/rebuilt.did u put the factory grey wires on?"

"There are a couple of critical items you need to be aware of on these engines. First, the spark plug wires need to be the gray inductive resistor wires - these are not automotive wires. Secondly, the spark plugs should be the factory recommended QL78YC. Use of other spark plugs or wires can cause problems inside the power pack from RFI and MFI noise. CDI Electronics has the spark plug wires available as a set P/N: 931-4921"

"also,the metal rfi shield,.MU

"also, the metal rfi shield,.MUST be in place.ck for loose timer wheel, cracks in it,loose optical sensor, loose bad conn on it.other than those items,u will be needing to run power pack ,sensor tests.....this will, for one thing, require a special tool, called an ignition anaylzer, but there r ways to get around it,more difficult tho..my lil 'analyzer' cost 350.00 i think,5 yrs ago."

"thats a very good engine,..new ones r 12-15000..up.....take good care of it,...and it'll take care.....of u and your's....tell em u want a compl tune up,decarb,..water pump kit, lower unit oil..all timing ck'ed and adj...and,it would not hurt,to do a vro ,oil consumption test at both idle and at about 3500 rpm or greater....have them test the vro warning signals.....or,u can get off ,of it..."

"That was a 'heavy medicin

"That was a 'heavy medicine' from JWB. To me it sounds more like an electrical/electronic issue, and my guess You will find it in the optical sensor/powerpack/stator.
Best would be if You could either borrow the analyzer or bring the dealer on a trip. Then when problem occurs, do a test of the sensor.
However a new water pump/impeller and service will not hurt, but this does not look like an ordinary service situation to me."

"in my last post above,i was j

"in my last post above,i was just guiding to 'take care of it'......i'm sure its pack or sensor prob, poss key switch.........kill sw prob."
