Hello, I've recently been given(yes gave to me) a 1997 Suncruiser Pontoon with a 1996 Evinrude model # E35QLEDC

After acquiring the boat I have begun to troubleshoot it's starting issue. After my initial tests I found that none of the cylinders are getting spark. My first thoughts were it could be the kill switch as it had been sitting out for a long time and when you pull the lanyard the kill part pops out very slowly. I went ahead and replaced it since it was cheap. This did nothing to get me any spark.
I then decided to try disconnecting the kill switch wire Black w/ Yellow stripe and still get no spark.
So, here I am wondering what to check next?
Stator?
Coils?
Power Pack?
A new stator is 188 dollars and a new power pack is about 380.00. I can probably replace both myself however, I really don't want to just start throwing money at this thing. As for testing the above 3 parts I mentioned, I would have no idea where to even begin on how to do that.
What do you guys think? I am of course open to any and all suggestions.
