It will only go into reverse no matter what position the throttle is in.

"ck to see that your cable has not come disc,..ck to see that it is in fact moving both directions,.(at eng)...if it does,..u have a prob at eng,..if it does not move in both directions,..u have a cable or control box prob."

Thank you jwmarine. I checked it and the shifting cable does not move in either direction at the engine. I also tried to move the linkage on the motor the cable is attached to and could not move that linkage. Should you be able to move that linkage manually. Thanks again.

"the eng linkage may take a lil force......i would have cable disc at eng,pull on loose end to see if cable is broken,....in either case...u need to go into control box....."
