my 454xli starts and runs grea

my 454xli starts and runs great when cold. After a run when I shut it off it will crank but not restart until it has cooled off. Any suggestions as to what might cause this. This is the second 1996 454xli that I have had this problem with.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would check the spark when hot. You could have a coil going bad, you could have a cracked cap or bad wires. Start with a general tune up if you haven't done that already. Not only will that eliminate items in question, you may well stumble upon the problem while working on it. You may see a connector not securely locked in place or a corroded ground wire on the coil or who knows what else.

"I didn't fix the last one. Lost it in hurricane Frances in 2004. Already done as far as the tune up goes. No bad wires, cracked cap etc. I've been in the business 35 years and just cant figure this one out. Any more suggestions.

I had a 98 GMC truck that did

I had a 98 GMC truck that did similar and traced to bad electronic ignition black box. It got hot and that was it.
