Well i just replaced the spark

Well i just replaced the spark plugs and the old gas. Still haveing the same prob. Works great at like half throttle but when i go to full throttle it dies down. Not jumping or anything kinda like its not getting all the fuel it needs or something. Is there something i should check? What would cause this?

"most likely is a plugged jet

"most likely is a plugged jet in the carb, tear down and cleaning required, no magic in a can for this. You can try to things, one pull on choke when it starts to die, if it helps its the carb or fuel pump. two, pump fuel bulb while runnning, if it helps its the fuel supply system"

Ah i forgot to mention that it

Ah i forgot to mention that it wont run without the carb pulled out it just dies down and conks out. So just take the carb apark and soak it in carb cleaner?

"your main jet is clogged, soa

"your main jet is clogged, soaking might help loosen the crud but without blowing compressed air through all the ports you run the chance of wasting your time and money. Your float should be set and idle mixture set at this time. use this site for a parts break down
http://www.crowleymarine.com/parts.cfm

looks like part #9 is the main jet, remove #10, plug on bottom of bowl for a "QUICK" clean job"

"if the carb was taken apart y

"if the carb was taken apart yes, as is no. If you want to take the lazy way, without removing the carb, a small wire up through the center of the main jet might open it up. While this might work it doesn't clean the idle jet ports, float or needle and seat assembly."

Could you give me a step by st

Could you give me a step by step on how to do this the proper way? Id rather not take the lazy way out .

"I don't have specs for yo

"I don't have specs for your float adjustment. Perhaps Graham does, if he doesn't jump in here click on his name and drop him an email. As far as dissasembly just take the big pieces off, buy a gasket kit, normally thats all you need. It wont come with the float or needle but thats ok. The idle mixture screw needs to be removed, before doing that screww it in until lightly seated counting the number of turns, that will give you a good starting point. Check all passages by blowing air throught them, extra attention to main jet and idle ports. Carb adjusting 101 here

Im going to do this prob on su

Im going to do this prob on sunday evening. Should i be able to buy a new gasket local? How long does a job like this normaly take? Im good with cars but have never worked with a outboard. Im sure its a little easier. Ive had thsi engine for about 5 years is there any maintence i should have done other then replace the plugs?
Im going to take some pics as i do this.

So do you think my prob could

So do you think my prob could be a fuel filter? I only took the boat out 3-4 times a year.for the first 3 years last 2 the engine has sat.

"no, it needs a carb job, some

"no, it needs a carb job, someone left gas in it and let it sit. The water pump is rubber, use it or not it just rots away. When it falls apart it breaks into pieces clogging the passage ways in the engine. Or you overheat and junk the motor. Routine maintenance is part of boating"

Thanks for the reply. From now

Thanks for the reply. From now on ill keep up on the motor. Ive been neglecting it for while time to get it in shape.
