1996 454 XLI will not start

Went to start my starboard engine and noticed that when I turned on the key there was no buzzer and no check engine light. The engine will turn over, but will not start. Listening at the engine, when turning on the key, the fuel pump does not run. I switched ECM's between the port and starboard engine, but the issue did not move.

Pretty much ruined a perfect Saturday at this point.
Anyone have any ideas?

Check the handful of fuses and relays under the cover. Pay attention to the connectors for each. Sometimes the fuses/relays are fine but the connectors have corroded and won't pass sufficent current thru the connector.

the owner's manual will have locations and values, maybe even a schematic toward the back of it.

Sounds like the key activates the starter just fine but the current is being interrupted before it reaches the ecu and fuel pump (hence the fuse-relay recommendation).

You have a dead man/kill switch or safety lanyard? That will do it.

problem solved. It was a bad engine relay.
