1996 175hp Mercury Offshore

First time out moving boat from ramp to my dockage. Twenty minutes into ride and intermittent beeps from alarm. I sopped the motor and disconnected blue wire from oil cap senor and beeps continued. Got towed to mechanic.Guessing I'll be mixing oil/gas.
