just bought a 115 mariner seem

just bought a 115 mariner seems the pinion bearing is broke. maybe need new driveshaft.does anyone have any knowledge of these outboards as far as engine wise.are they a good working engine?thanks.

Merc was still buying most of their powerheads and gears from Yamaha at the time, so a fairly dependable motor.

Most often seen failures on these (other than that caused by neglect/lack of maintenance) is the sensors - oil and temp - they are built simple and cheap...
