" Hello, maybe someone can help me with this, have a 1996 115HP loop charged V4 evinrude, am noticing a small oil/gas slick in the water whenever the water comes in contact with the lower part of the motor cover, took of the cowling and noticed some oil/gas laying in the bottom part of cover, also some in the cover that fits over the carbs, motor runs fine at speed but just a little rough at idle with spark to all cylinders, thanks for any help Gene "

" Check all your lines for holes/cracks and loose connections. I would think that loose oil and gas could be somewhat of a fire hazard. It sounds like maybe you're a little lean in idle, which should not hurt the motor. Just as long as you're not also lean at higher speeds. Lean at higher speeds and your talking, lack of lubrication, distorted cylinders and pistons, damaged rings and ultimately premature powerhead failure. "
