Hi I e recently purchased this boat, it bogged down while I took it out and I limped it home.
I had a friend check it over and the carbs were blocked up and the water trap casing was split. We fixed this and it started first pop and sounded great. My friend got concerned as no water was coming for the two exhaust holes on the upper leg. It's telltale was strong and lower exhaust was healthy stream. We found that there was no thermostat in this motor, plenty of water flowing through it still. I did wonder if this would be a possible cause of the upper exhaust outlet having no water. He's gone and pulled the head off and is was pretty clean, one small piece of an old impeller in there, pulled the lower leg off and it's impeller is intact.but now he want to pull the whole leg apart and I'm not convinced. What do I do from here as this experiment is getting very expensive and not what I expected.
