1995 Mercury 40hp 30 jet hard start.

I have a 1995 mercury 40 hp 30 jet that I just got. Initially it didnt have spark. Now it has spark but i ran into a bit of a problem. When i first got it i took the carbs apart to clean it and noticed that the little jet nipple was broken. Iv hunted the internet tirelessly for that little piece. I thought i found it and bought it, it was not the correct part. It appears that it has something to do with the joke or priming system on the upper carb im not sure. Do any of you guys know where to get it?? Or a way to by pass it. I got the motor to start for the first time today but i had to stick my hand over the intake of the carb (choking it essentially) and it started. Any ideas guys? thanks!!
 
Well nobody has commented on this, but i think iv figured out a way to make it work. I got to looking at the jet (the broken one) and it has little holes to suck fuel into the main jet to squirt into the bore of the carb, however, I think it also is where the primer gets it feed from as well. So what im going to do is take a "T" fitting and tie in the line after the oil pump of course, and right before the carbs. This way when you prime the bulb it pressurizes everything the same way. I mentioned above that i found the normal jet in the junk yard and they are the same sized jets so that shouldnt be an issue. Ill let you guys know if it works.
 
What's the serial of the motor? You can buy a full carb kit and that should have all the jets in it.
 
The serial is 0G124655. I have searched the internet looking for one but haven't found one yet. Its part # 30 in most diagrams. All are obsolete. If you know where one is I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks.

Those both seem to be the same part as there isn't a picture but it's #30 on that diagram.
 
Alright guys, due to not being able to find the part i came up with a solution. I got a tee from lowes and but it in before the fuel pump and ran the 1/8" line to the enrichment valve and it worked. However it only worked if you primed the bulb. So i decided to put it after the fuel pump and what do you know it works like a champ. Everything works exactly like it did from the factory except you dont need that pesky barb jet. A little word to the wise, dont use a fitting that the ends screw into the tee it will constantly leak. Get a solid brass or stainless 3/8" x 3/8" x 1/8" tee and it will work just fine. Plus some fuel line. You can also use a 3/8" x 3/8" x 1/4" tee and heat the hose or lube it real good and use that. The first one i mentioned is hard to find and more expensive than the second one. Hope this will help someone one day. Thanks!
