1995 mercruiser5.7 electronic fuel injection problems i think

Since spring launch the engine has been running fine yesterday after a few hours of cruising the engine began to bog down and I would have to back of the rpms to about 2 k to get back. The fuel gage when it was bogging down was bouncing between empty and half full. the bogging
down was intermitent about every 5 minutes of so. Any Ideas as to where I should look for the problem. Regards Gary
 
The other thing I notice as an odour like a sulfur when it as bogging down. Don't kno if this is an indicator of my fuel to the engine problem? Regards Gary
 
Where to begin checking thins out?
Since spring launch the engine has been running fine yesterday after a few hours of cruising the engine began to bog down and I would have to back of the rpms to about 2 k as I as concerned that the engine would cut out. The fuel gage when it was bogging down was bouncing between empty and half full. The tank was at half full at the start of the cruise. There were no indications of a fuel leak such as gas fumes in the engine compartment. The bogging down was intermittent about every 5 minutes of so. When I shifted out of gear The engine would rev as if nothing were wrong.
The other thing I notice as an odour like a sulfur when it as bogging down. Don't know if this is an indicator of my fuel to the engine problem? I would appreciate any ideas on this issue or issues. Regards Gary
