1995 Johnson Fast Strike - Trim Issues - Help

Just purchased a 1995 Ranger 364V with 150 Johnson Fast Strike. First day out today and the trim worked intermittently. Has trim switch up front, on console and on the motor. When the trim would not go up or down, it did not matter which switch I was pressing. It seemed to be in the main switch, trim motor or perhaps the solenoid, not really sure where the issues is. When the trim did work, it worked great. Strong pressure and movement up and down.

Couple of questions guys.

I think it is the solenoid but I don't want to start throwing money at incorrect solutions.
How can I trouble shoot where the issues actually is?

Is there an on-line site where I can get genuine OMC Parts?

Is there a good shop manual, which one is the best?
Any Opinions????

Intermittent operation of the PTT unit in both modes, especially from more than one source/switch, is usually due to low or no voltage being applied at the pickup point...... no voltage to the switches!

There is also the possibility of both relays acting up in the PTT junction box... BUT... that is highly unlikely. The junction box can be found by simply tracing the wires back from the PTT electric motor to the box.

The most likely cause is a loose or tight BUT dirty (corroded) supply wire at it's connection whether it be directly at the battery or a terminal strip.
