1995 johnson 50 hp impeller change

my issue is trying to get to the disconnect for the linkage! ive found some threads saying behind the carbs. but im not sure what to do after that? looks like you undo the nut and the linkage comes out, right??? any other tips on this would be appreciated! I just ordered the manual but dont want to wait.

Just 3 bolts and a nut and the starter motor is out of the way.---Then it is easy to disconnect shift linkage.

Thanks, i knew it would be something simple!!! Couldnt find the answer anywhere so i had to ask. Great website! I'm sure I'll have a few more dumb questions before this motors done! Thanks
