1995 johnson 175 no spark on 6 cyl...help

Hello to all from Greece!!!!!
I have a 1995 175hp V6 EXEOM and I seem to get a problem SOMETIMES. It runs like a charm but then all of a sudden, it cuts out on all 6 cyl. I unscrew all spark plugs and realise that there is no spark on any of them. A few minutes later, like when it cools down(??), it starts running again with no problems. I took it out of staorage last week, started the engine, it work fine for 10 minutes then it cut out. Since then, I've had the engine running on 3 seperate occasions for an hour each time, just perfectly. I am really baffled.....any ideas?............please......:(
 
this would have me suspecting kill and ignition switch...then,u just have to start cking by the manual.,..your stator,..is very suspect but hidden under all the nice plastic,and has to run hotter than others,..

A friend of mine, has the exact same engine, but a 150hp instead of 175hp. He offered (as he is a mechanic) to swap parts with his, process of elimination, to see which part needed attention. We started with my sensor, his power pack, his stator on his engine, evy fine. My sensor, my power pack, his stator on his engine, evy fine. My sensor,power pack,stator on his engine, evy fine, for quite a while. Then it started misfiring a bit till it conked out. It started again but as we increase revs, the engine cuts out. So now we start putting his 'good' parts back in and taking mine out, one by one and checking. Now he has the same problem I have with his engine, with his parts in. Seems like a virus infected his engine. Result, we have 2 engine with the same problem.....Incredible....Can anyone shed any light. He is gonna try testing thins now, but if anyone has any ideas, we are listening...please
 
i have a 175 jonno i replaced the CDI (black box) my motor had serios cutting out problems i mean 23kms off shore and cutting out around a dozen+ times. this went on for a couple of years after rebuild. It started easily every time a real mystery! Instead of replacing CDI then had problems, now 600/700$ later no cut outs. She Purrs! Realstically a small price to pay instead of wasting time like i did taking my boat to many mechanics costing $$$ pissing in my pocket for inexplainable happenings. To think about it if your motor cuts out to me its electrical. If your motor surges before stopping i think its a fuel problem. Hope that helps
