1995 johnson 115

thanks for the info.should it

thanks for the info.should it be a big concern that 1 cylinder has a 10 lb difference in compression.and could this cause a miss in the motor the miss comes and goes whenever it wants to.

"not a big deal--,could indica

"not a big deal--,could indicate future prob's w/that cyl...the fact of lower comp only, will not cause ur miss....wtr intrusion due to a bad hd gasket---yes...i imagine ur miss is electrical,..find out which one is missing,by first,a spark test,...all good, then a running test, using timing lite,to determine missing cyl."

When u say a spark test should

When u say a spark test should I each plug 1 at a time and check the spaerk. Or should I have. Motor running and spark plug wire off one at a time and see on wat cylinder it doesn't make adifference in the motor running

"Carl:
Has to do with engine

"Carl:
Has to do with engine rotation. If rotation the other way, opposite comp result."

thanks for all the info.still

thanks for all the info.still need to know how to check if my power pack or coil is bad on johnson.should i be running the engine and pull each plug wire to check the power packs or coil packs or both the power pack and coil pack the same thing just different names when i pull the wire the one that makes the least difference in running would that be the bad one

"Jason....it appears you are d

"Jason....it appears you are determined to do the plug wire pulling thing....go back and read JWMarine,s entry on 6/28..thats the safe and sure way to approach your problem...respectfully...Carl"

"how exactly do u run a spark

"how exactly do u run a spark test. and after that how do you run a test with a timing lite.would like to perform both test but not quite sure how to.

Thanking you In advanced,
Jason beasley"

thats a good tool to start wit

thats a good tool to start with..do you have an induction timing light?you can do the same thing with a board and a few nails but for safety purposes(after assuming you have a low experience level) i think its best we go with the tool..i would personally just throw a timing light on it when it is missing and see where the miss is to start with...
