I recently had the voltage regulator go out on my 120 force. After I replaced it, I took my boat out on the lake and it only goes about ten miles an hour. normal speed at full throttle is thirty two miles an hour for my boat. nothing else was changed.
I was wondering if anyone knows why that would happen. Other particulars are I bought the voltage regulator obviously aftermarket. So I'm thinking, maybe I wired it wrong. Because the voltage regulator that was in the motor was 4 wires. The one that I received and used to replace was 5 wires. I did do a little bit of switching around of the wires to try to see if I was wrong in how I did it But it did not change anything.
