Hey guys, as the title implies i have a 1995 evinrude 130 V4. The engine starts up easy, idles and runs great minus a miss at 3700 or just over half throttle.
The engine will miss right there on acceleration most of the time, occasionally powering right through that rpm range. It will also miss on deceleration right at that same rpm range which is pretty much the 3700 rpm range.
The boat is new to me as of January so I really dont have a ton of history on it. I can tell you that I had a charging issue and i have replaced the starting battery with an optima blue top cranking battery as well have replaced the rectifier and that issue is solved. While de wintering I replaced the spark plugs. It also has an upgraded CDI power pack that a previous owner has installed. Appears to have been installed in 2013 so less than 3 years ago most likely.
All of the timer coils ohm out within spec, the only coil that doesn't is the charge coil off the stator. I believe the manual specs it to read 480 ohms +/- 50 and Mine is 380 ohms.
Any suggestions as to where to start looking for this consistent rpm band miss?
