This was originally a remote model that I changed to a tiller. It ran flawless as a remote but since I added the tiller it wants to shake to death around 2000rpms. I took it out today and had it above the 2000rpm problem trimmed down to keep from porpoising and here we go again with the motor shaking.

Any suggestions?

is the remote to tiller the only thing you changed?

you didnt change any wires?

the carb link and timer base still set up correctly and moving properly?

if you suspect its losing spark you can hook a timing light to one wire at a time and drive around the lake......your just looking for a good consistant spark not setting the timing

but from the way you say it doesnt do it till you trim makes me think theres a loose wire somewhere.....i would check and clean all the connections.
